I have owned these amazing players for around a year, the first thing to say is they sound brilliant, very accurate indeed. If you use these with MP3s i would strongly recommend only using high bit rates, or purchasing Platinum notes, as the crowd will head the difference in quality and volume while your mixing. There are a few very very small things that niggle me, firstly the pitch shift is exceptionally accurate, but it does not click when in the center which would make it easier when creating your own echo or flange affects, while using the cdjs. also there are no inputs for devices such as ipods (which Pioneer are very capable of, i also have their cd player for my car which does have an ipod facility, also brilliant sound!)While reading MP3 cds it is not as fast at mapping out your track as it is with non mp3 cds.These players do not jump regardless of how they are bashed around, you can lock the eject key so someone cant come along and press it and spoil your set (or to stop you from doing it yourself). The vinyl mode on this player is great, however you do not get a spinning platter like you do on the technics cd players, but these win in every other way.The Wide Mode feature allows you to slow the track down to 0 beats per minute right up to double the speed, which can be great for adding affect sound, vocal scratchin etc.You can record your hot cues and loops onto the memory card, if you do lots of different sets with different genres of music i recommend getting a few SD cards to make it easier and less confusing while your doing your set!I tried alot of cd turntables before i decided on these, and i believe these are the best all round.Conclusion:These sound great, feel great, Very accurate. not fully future proof, with the Pioneer DJM700 you can control the CDJs and software such as traktor! ( unfortunatly i don't have 1 yet) and they look lovely, and make other equipment look outdated.Hope it helps

As a DJ ,everywhere i go i see pioneer cd players ,in clubs, bars ,friends houses & everyone bangs on about how they are the best & that they are industry standard.At the end of the day they are only a cd player. Yes,they perform brilliantly at what they do. Rock solid & reliable as with all pio pro cd players but all they do is play cd's.O.K so you can control dj software apps too.As it goes, there are other brands of players out there which offer much better functionality & more features.Pio have the waveform display on this player but it is not a nescasary feature. I manage perfectly well without one.That waveform is only saved to the SD card (If you can be bothered with that) & not saved to the id3tag so you have to have a memory card just to read a tiny w/f display.As for the industry standard, well it's imaginary & shows how little imagination the dj world has. Standard is what this unit is at best.I recently took annother brand media player to a club & used it on one channel & then the cdj 1000 on the other & played a set.The cdj ,which is well expensive offered less intuitive useability than my other player which costs less than half the price.I wish that djs & club owners everywhere would open their eyes & remove the blinkers & look a bit further at what can be done with other brand units instead of feeling pressured into the sheep hearded world of indoctrinated pioneer.The CD will soon pass & is already making way for newer options.For example ,my own units require no cds at all & have a better sound quality playing files from external storage devices. No mor wasted plastic cds.Pioneer need to wake up & catch up because the cdj range are now dinosaurs compared to other modern dj media players. One day soon theese words will no longer be frowned upon but instead djs will say "Remember the pioneer cdj s, they were brilliant but theres no going back to them again. Especially at that price".C'mon pioneer, give us something new & stop flogging a dead dinosaur.

I first encountered these babies whilst DJing at M.O.S, didn't have much time to get au fait that night, even so worked well with rock solid build and fantastically stable, just what a DJ looks for. Sound quality not bad at all, I'm sure that will improve with pioneer's next instalment of the range. I have played with since that night and yes, they are "THE BEST OF THE BEST" today at least, that's why they are industry standard.
